h/t to Bill Wolfrum, who says, "We Americans grow up hearing about 'Freedom and Liberty.' It is literally drilled into our heads day after day. We are now at a time when those words must either be proven true, or dismissed all together. A thank you to Mr. Spooner for his service and his beautiful sentiments."

I bawled like a baby while listening to this. Mr. Spooner fits comfortably into a demographic which so commonly relegates gays and lesbians to inferior status, yet his love for his son(s) informs his moral position on the matter of same-sex marriage.
This man, who survived so very much in defense of the concepts of freedom and equality, speaks for all of us when he argues for one simple thing, a thing without cost but of infinite value, equal standing and equal rights for all people.
