I don't know if my family ever saw Russia -- well, technically the USSR at the time -- while they lived in Alaska, but they did see the famous "midnight sun": (color-corrected slide image)
We are getting to that time of year now. It sure is disorienting. Late evening seems like late afternoon; it sure makes it hard to maintain any type of schedule by the sun. I guess it explains why Alaskans scurry around like crazy ants during the summer months in a blaze of activity.
